Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc.
has acquired Weartech International, Inc., a privately-held producer of cobalt-based hard facing and wear-resistant welding consumables. Weartech is headquartered in Anaheim, CA, with manufacturing plants in Anaheim and Port Talbot, Wales. 
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

T.D. Williamson recently promoted Bruce Thames to senior vice president and COO. In this capacity Thames will be responsible for overseeing completion of strategic TDW initiatives, as well as driving the day-to-day execution of business around the world.
Power Line Services
, a portfolio company of the private equity firm Energy Capital Partners, has acquired Snelson Companies Inc., from the GFI Energy Group and other shareholders. The purchase extends Power Line Services’ operating footprint west of the Rockies and adds pipeline construction to its suite of businesses. The senior management team at Power Line Services will manage the overall group of pipeline and electric transmission and energy services companies. The existing management team at Snelson will continue to run their respective division, while the existing management team at Power Line Services will continue to run the electric transmission and energy divisions.

Lauren Conley has been appointed Human Resource manager for DUOLINE® Technologies and Robroy Industries Conduit Division. Conley obtained her human resource education in the UK. She holds a Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Certificate in Personnel Practice, a Certificate in Recruitment and Employment Law, and a National Vocational Qualification in HR Personnel Support.

Technical Toolboxes has hired Joe Pikas as vice president of Pipeline Integrity & Training. He will be designing and developing new industry training courses, seminars and workshops in addition to other duties.
Vermeer Corporation
was awarded the Joseph L. Abbott Jr. Innovative Product Award (New Installation Category) by the North American Society of Trenchless Technology (NASTT) at the 2012 No-Dig Show, held March 12 – 15, 2012, in Nashville, TN. Vermeer won the award for its D36x50R Series II Navigator® HDD, equipped with the rock-focused MAGnum™ drilling system.
  Not a dedicated rock drill, the MAGnum system can be disengaged by the flip of the switch, and the D36x50R Series II will perform as a conventional HDD drill. This versatility qualifies the drill for a range of ground conditions to help boost overall utilization.

Rhino Linings Corporation was awarded the Polyurea Development Association’s (PDA) first ever People’s Choice Award for the “Best Use of a Polyurea Product on any Substrate” at the 2012 PDA Conference in Orlando, FL.
  Out of the more than 250 PDA members, the PDA awards committee named the Rhino Linings application on the McLeod Dam Restoration Project in Trenton, Ontario, Canada.

Inergy Midstream, L.P.
has named Randy Moeder to the board of directors of NRGM GP, LLC, the general partner of Inergy Midstream, L.P. He will also serve on the audit committee. Moeder is currently CEO and president of Moeder Oil & Gas, LLC.

John Chisholm has been given the additional responsibilities of CEO of Flotek Industries, Inc. Prior to the appointment, he served as president and chairman.

Eagle Rock Energy Partners, L.P. has named Roger Fox senior vice president, Midstream Business.

Ayman Ahmed Imbabi has joined CCC, a global compressor controls company, at their Middle East headquarters in Abu Dhabi with responsibility for business in Egypt, Iraq and Turkey. 

CGW-Camel Grinding Wheels appointed Daniel Grantham as western sales manager and director of welding distribution. Grantham is responsible for maintaining relationships with national and regional distributors and supporting the day-to-day operations of CGW’s field representatives.

D. Hallett has been promoted to senior vice president, Business Development, at Eagle Rock Energy Partners. Hallett spent the past year and a half serving as vice president of Business Development.

TMK IPSCO, the North American division of global pipe manufacturer TMK, has begun development of a new 33,000 sq-foot pipe threading and service facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The production equipment at the facility will thread a full range of ULTRA™ Premium connections, from 4½- to 13 3/8 inches. In addition, the site will offer a full line of accessories, services and repairs. The facility is expected to begin operating in late 2012.

Subsea 7 has won the Pipeline Industries Guild’s (PIG) 2012 Subsea Pipeline Technology Award. The award was received at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. The award recognizes Subsea 7’s technology initiative for the installation of Mechanically Lined Pipe (Bubi® pipe) by reel–lay. The technology, independently qualified by DNV, has demonstrated its market potential and been adopted for the first major Pre-Salt project, Guará-Lula NE, in Brazil by Petrobras.

Jack G. Guelker
of Kingsbury, TX passed away March 24, 2012. Prior to his death, Guelker was a general superintendent and partner with Gregory & Cook Inc.
  He is survived by his wife Becky; sons, David Guelker, William Hinds (Amal) and Patrick Hinds (Melissa); two sisters and several grandchildren.

Josh Reeves, a Willbros Construction (U.S.) LLC team member and DeQuincy, LA resident, was killed while on his way to work as a welders’ helper. He was commuting to work with his brother JT Reeves, who was also injured in the accident. Early reports indicate that JT is expected to make a full recovery.
  Josh Reeves was not only a valued Willbros employee, he also served with the U.S. Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He is survived by his wife, Kayla; daughters, Cassidy Rosalynn Reeves and Clarissa Grace Ewing; his parents Larry and Katie Reeves; and brother JT Reeves.
