CRC-Evans Pipeline International, Inc. recently held a grand opening of its new comprehensive pipeline supply store and warehouse in Tulsa, OK, located at 1134 N. Garnett Rd.  The 9,000 sq-ft storefront is a one-stop shop for pipe contractors — housing a large inventory — with over 3,000 SKUs that includes a broad selection of standard pipeline construction items. The facility offers pipe handling, beveling, line-up clamps, and CRC-Evans’ full range of testing equipment for purchase. The warehouse also carries necessary accessories, ranging from support equipment tools to welding supplies and protective clothing. Orders can be shipped on the day of order.

HOLT CAT
, The Caterpillar® Equipment and Engine dealer for South, Central, North and North East TX, has opened a new 24,000 sq-ft LEED gold certified facility in Laredo, TX. “We’re excited to be investing and expanding our capacities in the area with this new facility,” said J.K. Baxter, HOLT senior vice president, Machine Division.
  A grand opening to showcase the facility was held on March 26. During the program, the Laredo Community College was presented with a grant check for the amount of $4,000 from HOLT CAT and the Caterpillar® Dealer Excellence Fund for professional and technical skills training.  “The goal of the Dealer Excellence Fund Program is to help schools develop state-the-art technical training programs,” said Shaun Manning, director, HOLT ProTech Training.

TMK IPSCO
has opened a new pipe threading and service facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located in neighboring Sherwood Park, the plant will supply the full line of ULTRATM premium connections on pipe and accessories to the company’s growing customer base in Alberta and neighboring British Columbia. The size range for pipe and accessories to be threaded is 4 ½- to 13 3/8 inches.
  TMK IPSCO operates in North America as a division of TMK. TMK operates 27 production facilities around the world.

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers recently opened its new auction facility in Geelong, Victoria, Australia during a multi-million dollar grand opening auction. More than 1,440 bidders from more than 30 countries registered on site or online to participate in the unreserved public auction, which featured more than 950 heavy equipment and transportation items from more than 115 sellers. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the new building featured the CEO of the Victoria Civil Contractors Federation and Ritchie Bros. employees.
  The next Ritchie Bros. Geelong auction is scheduled for June 25, 2013.

The Willbros Group, Inc. has named John K. Allcorn senior vice president, Sales. Allcorn is not new to Willbros where he served for nine years in various executive positions. While previously with Willbros he was responsible for worldwide operations, including overseeing the group’s engineering and construction companies. Allcorn has more than 27 years of experience in the pipeline industry, specializing in pipeline design and construction. Additionally, he has vast domestic and international experience in operations and executive management.

U.S. Pipeline, Inc. (USPL)
President and CEO Greg Curran is stepping down as president of the company but will remain CEO. Kelly Osborn is the new president of USPL. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, he was involved in many major infrastructure projects including the Ruby Pipeline, FGT Phase 8 Expansion, Alberta Clipper, the Green Pipeline, Millennium Pipeline, and Enbridge’s Southern Access & Southern Lights.

Bigge Crane and Rigging has opened a new Denver location that offers bare rough terrain and crawler crane leasing in the Rockies region. The company has locations in Salt Lake City and their headquarters in Houston, TX.
 
Greene’s Energy Group
has promoted Blayne Prejean to operations manager of Cherokee Services, a division of Greene’s Energy Group. Based in Lafayette, LA, Prejean will report to General Manager Todd Naquin and will oversee day-to-day operations including project logistics, equipment rental inventory and personnel.
 
Dallas, TX-based Driver Pipeline announced that The Dow Chemical Company’s Texas Operations site has honored the company with their Safety Excellence Award for 2012. This award is given to companies who have worked more than 50K man-hours during the year, have maintained an OSHA rate of less than .21 (Driver’s rate is 0.0), who have helped contribute to Texas Operations’ overall safety performance, and who are top performers in Dow’s Safety and Site Work process during the year. This award was given to only 21 out of over 225 companies that work at Dow Texas Operations.
  In presenting the Safety Excellence Award to Driver Pipeline, Dow Texas Operations Process Leader Bob Thomas stated, “Everyone at Dow Texas Operations sincerely appreciate Driver Pipeline’s commitment to safety and the excellent performance results.  The most significant reward is that all of the employees get to go home to their families, safely, every day.  Driver Pipeline’s crews and leadership at the Texas Operations site have delivered consistent performance for many years now.”
  Jim Shaffer, president and CEO of Driver Pipeline thanked the entire Driver/Dow team for the Award. “We appreciate everyone’s focus and commitment to safety.” Shaffer said. “We especially thank our friends at Dow who provide this recognition. Other customers talk safety, but Dow lives it and actively supports it, which is greatly appreciated.”
  In addition to the Safety in Excellence Award, Driver Pipeline Company Inc. also received Dow Texas Operations’ 2012 Best in Class award. This award is given to companies who have worked more than 50K man hours during the year, have maintained an OSHA rate of less than .21 for four consecutive years (Driver’s rate is 0.0), who have helped contribute to Dow’s overall safety performance for those four consecutive years, and who have been top performers in Dow’s Safety and Site Work Process during the year. This award was given to only 11 out of the more than 225 companies that work with Dow Texas Operations.
