Coastal Bend Header Project Moves Forward

Posted on

FERC has approved Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP’s request to construct the North Houston Compressor Station associated with the Coastal Bend Header Project, along with the following modifications:

  • Removal of the launcher/receiver assembly, to be replaced with a mainline valve assembly
  • Redesigning the detention pond
  • Redesigning the layout of the facilities within the North Houston Compressor Station site

The Coastal Bend Header Project will deliver natural gas to the Freeport LNG Development, L.P. liquefaction terminal, and expand and modify a portion of the existing Index 129 Legacy System in southeast Texas. Once finished, it will enable Gulf South to serve customers with whom Gulf South has entered into 20-year firm precedent agreements to transport natural gas to serve the first two trains of the planned liquefaction terminal, which has already been approved.

The project is expected to be in service in February 2018.
