Construction of Spill Containment Systems for Liquefaction Project Approved

FERC has approved Freeport LNG’s request to construct the at-grade spill containment systems at the liquefaction, Unit 18, and pretreatment facilities associated with the Freeport LNG Liquefaction Project.

The Freeport LNG Liquefaction Project consists of the construction of liquefaction infrastructure at the company’s existing terminal to provide nominal export capacity of approximately 13.9 million metric tons per annum of LNG, which equates to the processing of approximately 2.0 Bcf/d of pipeline-quality natural gas. The gas will be derived from the interconnecting intrastate pipeline systems through Freeport LNG’s existing Stratton Ridge meter station.

Freeport LNG expects the first liquefaction train to be placed in service in 2018, with the second and third trains to be placed in service in 2019.
