Construction starts on TANAP section in Marmara Sea

Construction is officially underway on the 12-mile section of the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP) in the Marmara Sea.

Sapura Energy’s Sapurakencana 1200, a 153-meter, 32,504-ton vessel, is currently in the process of laying natural gas pipes on the shore of Kemer village in the district of Biga in the Çanakkale Province.

Once finished, the 1,150-mile Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline, which will run from Ardalan located on the border between Turkey and Georgia to İpsala located on the border between Turkey and Greece, will connect with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline to deliver natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe via Turkey.
