According to news releases, Southwest Gas Corp. got the green light from FERC to start operations on the 35.2-mile, eight-inch diameter Elko Area Expansion Project. The lateral will have new interconnections to the Ruby Pipeline LLC. Southwest’s Paiute Pipeline Co. constructed and will operate the project, which got approval for the pipeline right-of-way (ROW) from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in summer 2015.
Paiute’s sources said that the construction of the lateral and associated structure is complete, and that all remaining work will be finished shortly. According to the media, certain ROW sections will be on hold until spring 2016 because of winter freezes.
The project will add 21.9 MMcf/d of incremental firm transmission pipeline service.
