FERC: Access Road Can Be Relocated for Pipeline Construction Project

Posted on

FERC has approved Enbridge’s request to relocate an existing, permanent access road at the Barton Compressor Station in Colbert County, Alabama as part of the Lebanon Extension Project

According to FERC’s Elaine Baum, the relocation is necessary to avoid the new gas cooler and electrical control room.  Baum added that earth disturbance, including tree and stump removal, will be limited to removal and installation of the new fence section and portions of the new access road, where necessary.

Once completed, the Lebanon Extension Project will allow shippers to transport new natural gas supplies from the Appalachian region to markets in the midwestern United States. The project is expected to be placed in service in November 2017.
