Posted on

FERC has approved Kinder Morgan’s request to implement the following variances for the Orion Project in Pike and Wayne Counties, Pennsylvania.

  • Add a 40-foot-wide rock construction entrance to the northeast side of Contractor Yard #2 from Temporary Access Road-1
  • Revise water withdrawal location #2 and relocate Temporary Access Road-1 in order to reduce the amount of additional temporary workspace at this location
  • Revise the additional temporary workspace configurations at milepost 2.4 and add a new additional temporary workspace at milepost 4.2 to accommodate additional spoil storage

The Orion Project includes the construction of approximately 13 miles of pipeline looping in Pike and Wayne counties, Pennsylvania and minor modifications to one existing compressor station in Pike County, Pennsylvania.

Once finished, the project will allow for the delivery of 135,000 dekatherms per day of additional firm natural gas capacity and is expected to be in service in June 2018.
