FERC: Enbridge Can Use Extra Temporary Workspace for Pipeline Projects

Posted on

FERC has approved Enbridge’s request to utilize 0.07 acres of temporary workspace at milepost 679.8 on the Athens to Berne Loop, in Stock Township, Monroe County, Ohio in order to facilitate construction across portions of an ephemeral stream and a perennial stream in a safe manner as part of the Access South, Adair Southwest, and Lebanon Extension projects.

According to FERC’s Elaine Baum, Enbridge has committed to minimizing impacts on environmental resources through implementation of all applicable project plans, procedures, and permits, including the use of dry crossing methods for waterbody crossings.

Once completed, the Access South, Adair Southwest and Lebanon Extension projects will allow shippers to transport new natural gas supplies from the Appalachian region to markets in the midwestern United States. All three projects are expected to be placed in service in November 2017.
