FERC has approved Kinder Morgan’s request to construct two permanent access roads and use an existing access road for construction activities associated with the Midcontinent Express Pipeline Meter Station as part of the Southwest Louisiana Supply Project.
According to FERC’s Harry J. Jeudy, the additional permanent access roads will impact 0.06 acres of wetland, and no tree clearing will occur during construction. Jeudy added that, on April 11, 2017, the company received a modification to their existing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit enabling construction in the wetland.
Once completed, the Southwest Louisiana Supply Project will allow Kinder Morgan to provide an extra 295,000 Dth/d of firm transportation service for shippers, which have signed 20-year precedent agreements for a total of 900,000 Dth/d of project service.
The project is expected to be in service in February 2018.
