FERC has approved TransCanada’s request to commence construction of the Gulf XPress Project, other than the following:
- Cane Ridge Compressor Station (and associated workspaces and access roads) in Davidson County, Tennessee.
- Workspaces or access roads associated with the Leach C Meter Station in Boyd County, Kentucky.
Furthermore, the commission has also granted TransCanada permission to shift the location of suction/discharge lines at the Clifton Junction Compressor Station in Wayne County, Tennessee.
The Gulf XPress Project includes the construction of seven new compressor stations in Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi, along with upgrades to one approved compressor station and one existing meter station. Once completed, the project will greatly broaden the reach of low-cost, U.S.-produced natural gas from the Appalachian Basin, helping keep costs down for families and businesses in the region, while increasing reliability and access.
It is expected to be placed in service in 2018.
