Citing a failure to receive information necessary to complete an environmental review in a timely manner, FERC has pushed back the release of its final environmental impact statement for the Mountain Valley Project and the Equitrans Expansion Project to June 23, 2017.
According to FERC, in response to comments received on the draft EIS issued on September 16, 2016, several environmental requests were sent to Mountain Valley Pipeline LLC and Equitrans LP in January and March 2017, and the agency just recently received the information from the companies necessary to finish its environmental review.
The new deadlines for the environmental review of both projects is:
- June 23, 2017: Issuance of Notice of Availability of the final EIS
- September 21, 2017: 90-day Federal Authorization Decision Deadline
If another schedule change becomes necessary, FERC will provide additional notice so that the appropriate agencies are kept informed of the project’s progress.
