FERC Pushes Pipeline Replacement Project Forward

Posted on

FERC has approved Equitrans, L.P.’s variance request for 24-hour work activities as part of the TP-371 Pipeline Replacement Project in Armstrong and Indiana Counties, Pennsylvania.

According to FERC, 24-hour work activities will facilitate successful completion of and prevent potential borehole collapse during work stoppages for pullback of the 20-inch-diameter pipeline string associated with horizontal directional drill 4/5.

The TP-371 Pipeline Replacement Project involves upgrading 21 miles of an existing 36 mile portion of the Allegheny Valley Connector System in Armstrong and Indiana Counties, PA.  The project will replace the original 12-inch diameter pipeline with a 20-inch diameter pipeline and include the installation of a pig launcher/receiver and the possibility of upgrading or discontinuing use of ancillary facilities.
