Posted on

FERC has approved Kinder Morgan’s request to commence construction on the Sabine Pass Expansion Project.

The Sabine Pass Expansion Project includes replacing a meter station and adding 15,900 hp of compression in Acadia Parish, adding a tap and lateral to connect to the export terminal in Cameron Parish, and altering three delivery interconnects to allow receipts of gas. Less than 1.5 miles of header pipeline will also be installed to connect the compressor station to three existing pipeline interconnects. Once completed, the $151 million Sabine Pass Expansion Project will increase north-to-south firm service by 600,000 Dt/d.

The project is expected to be placed in service April 1, 2019.
