FERC: San Elizario Crossing Project Can Commence Service

Posted on

FERC has approved Comanche Trail Pipeline, LLC’s request to commence service of the San Elizario Crossing Project located in El Paso County, Texas.

According to Rich McGuire, Director, Division of Gas – Environment and Engineering, with FERC, this authorization is based on the Commission’s review of photographic documentation provided in Comanche Trail’s request to commence service and weekly status reports which show that restoration of the disturbed areas is progressing satisfactorily.

The San Elizario Crossing Project involves the construction of approximately 1,800 feet of FERC-jurisdictional 42-inch-diameter pipeline, installed beneath the Rio Grande River near the City of San Isidro, State of Chihuahua. It would deliver natural gas to a new delivery interconnect with pipeline facilities owned by an affiliate of Comanche Trail at the United States – Mexico border for increasing electric generation and industrial market needs in Mexico.
