Gulf Coast Southbound Expansion Project Construction Approved

FERC has approved Kinder Morgan’s request for authorization to commence abandonment work at Compressor Station No. 301 located in Wharton County, Texas, and to start construction of Compressor Station No. 394 and the lateral located in Cass County, Texas associated with Phase 1 of the Gulf Coast Southbound Expansion Project.

The Gulf Coast Southbound Expansion Project includes the construction of a new compressor station in Cass County, Texas, as well as modifications to existing compressor station facilities in Victoria, Wharton and Angelina Counties, Texas, and White County, Arkansas.

Once completed, the project will transport 460,000 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) natural gas from various receipt points in Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas to the Cheniere Corpus Christi Pipeline in San Patricio County, Texas for redelivery to the Cheniere Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project, and to the NET Mexico Pipeline, located in Nueces County, Texas.

The project is expected to be completed in October 2018.
