Mexican Pipeline Construction Project Contract Awarded

December 2017

Gas Natural del Noroeste SA de CV has received a $21.1 million contract from Mexico’s Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) to build a 20-mile, 24-inch lateral pipeline that will transport fuel to natural gas power plants in the country’s northwestern region.

Once completed, the pipeline will deliver natural gas from TransCanada’s 348-mile El Encino-Topolobampo Pipeline. The El Encino-Topolobampo Pipeline commenced partial operations earlier this year and interconnects with IEnova’s Ojinaga-El Encino system, which transports natural gas from the Trans-Pecos Pipeline in Presidio, TX.

The project, which is expected to be placed in service in July 2018, is anchored by a 27-year, 280 MMcf/d transportation agreement with CFE.
