Midwest Pipe Coating Marks 50th Anniversary As Leading Protective Coatings Applicator

Midwest Pipe Coating Inc., the only steel line pipe coating facility in the Chicago area, celebrated its 50th Anniversary on February 11th. The protective coatings applicator began operation in 1965 when corporate parent, C.S. McCrossan, an infrastructure contractor headquartered in Maple Grove, MN, opened the Midwest protective coatings plant to service the expanding market for coated energy pipe.
Today, Midwest continues to build on its well-earned reputation for quality coating as it applies corrosion protection to energy pipe for pipeline projects throughout North America. “Our new fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) production line increases Midwest’s capacity to meet the growing need for OD and ID coated pipe,” said Joel Chermak, general manager, Midwest Pipe Coating Inc. “We have also expanded into other pipeline markets, such as airport jet fuel lines and above-ground pipe fittings.”
