  • To accommodate landowners by separating the originally combined entry pits for the planned horizontal directional drills on the St. Cloud loop extension in Sherburne County, Minnesota.
  • To utilize 0.24 acre of additional extra temporary work space for pipeline tie-ins at each end of the Princeton branch line loop extension in Isanti County, Minnesota.

The Northern Lights 2017 Expansion project includes the construction of approximately 4.8 miles of 8- and 12-inch-diameter branch line loop extensions in Sherburne and Isanti counties, Minnesota, along with installation and operation of an additional 15,900-horsepower ISO-rated compressor unit at the company’s existing Faribault compressor station in Rice County, Minnesota.

Once completed, the project will enable the transportation of an incremental peak day firm service load of approximately 76,000 decatherms per day, and has a target in-service date of November 1, 2017.
