Rig Source Inc.

Rig Source Inc. recently introduced their new Terramac RT9 rubber track multipurpose carrier. The CE certified Terramac RT9 model has an 18,000 pound carrying capacity and is equipped with a 230 hp Cummins diesel engine in both open cab and closed cab options. The unit has rollover protective structure (ROPS) as well as falling object protective structure (FOPS) components. Ground pressure when fully loaded is only 4.9 psi. The RT9’s easy front and rear bolt-on attachments can accommodate a variety of needs in the drilling and general construction industries. The company says Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) as well as contractors can easily mount their own machines –cranes, drills, water tanks, and more – on Terramac crawler carriers.
ESAB Welding & Cutting Products
ESAB Welding & Cutting Products recently introduced the PowerCut 400 and PowerCut 700 manual plasma cutting packages.  These two new products complete the PowerCut Series, which offers a full range of plasma products, including the PowerCut 900, PowerCut 1300, and PowerCut 1600. The PowerCut 400 has a manual cutting capacity of up to 3/8-inch, and severs up to ½-inch.  Maximum piercing capacity is 3/16- inch. The PowerCut 700 has a manual cutting capacity of up to 5/8-inch, and severs up to 7/8-inch with a maximum piercing capacity of 5/16-inch.Featuring longer part life, higher cutting speeds, and a simple torch design, the company says the PowerCut 400 and 700 offer the lowest cost per foot of cut than any other machine in their price class.
Rex-Cut Abrasives
An upgraded line of blending, finishing, and polishing wheels that operate at higher RPMs for use in automated and hand finishing operations has been introduced by Rex-Cut Abrasives.  Rex-Cut® Smooth Touch™ Blending and Polishing Wheels feature non-woven cotton fiber construction that constantly exposes fresh abrasives as they work, are flexible, conformable, and provide smooth control.  Suitable for use on stainless steel, exotic metals, and aluminum requiring a high finish, they are available in standard coarse, medium, and fine grits for use at speeds up to 30,000 RPM, depending upon diameter and thickness. They are available in 2-, 3-, 4-, and 6-inch diameters, 1/8-, ¼-, and ½-inch thick.  The company says they will last up to five times longer than conventional unitized wheels.
Vanair’s Air N Arc® I300 offers six forms of power in a single 48-inch unit. Based on the technology of the Air N Arc® 300 diesel system, it provides an integrated 40 cfm rotary screw compressor, 7kW AC generator, 300 amp welder, battery booster and battery charger, with the newly added power of a 10.5gpm hydraulic pump…all driven by a single engine. Designed to provide full functionality with the truck engine off, mechanics can remain productive in all areas of their workday with enough power to run a crane. The I300 reduces chassis fuel consumption, noise, and engine maintenance while meeting anti-idling laws. It is small enough to fit behind the cab or on the side pack of the vehicle and there is no need to purchase a separate welder, compressor or generator. The system ties directly into the vehicle’s electrical system allowing the truck’s battery to be charged to support work and safety lights and shares the diesel fuel source for maximum ease of use.
Looking for an abrasive disc to deburr, grind and blend using a right angle air die grinder? Check out Weiler’s line of BobCat™ abrasive flap discs. The BobCat replaces small diameter coated blending discs for weld blending and finishing purposes. The company said BobCats increase productivity with fewer changeovers and longer product life. And high stock removal and excellent finish consistency can now be achieved in one easy step. Weiler’s 2-inch and 3-inch  flap discs are also ideal for detail work and for hard-to-reach areas. BobCat discs are available in high performing zirconium grain in angled and flat configurations with grit sizes ranging from 36Z to 120Z.
Xiris has developed a Wide Dynamic Range View Camera, the XVC-O, that can be mounted right at the welding tip to allow the operator to remotely view the welding process. The Xiris XVC-O View Camera for Weld Monitoring is suited for a wide range of welding applications including MIG, MAG, TIG, Plasma and Laser.  By delivering clear views of the brightest features of a welding torch tip while still being able to see the weld pool and surrounding darker background, the cameras can improve weld quality, lower the defect rate, improve worker efficiency and the health and safety of welding processes. The features of the XVC-O View Camera make it the logical system choice for remote viewing of many Open Arc welding applications including:   Pipe Cladding, Orbital Welding, Pressure Vessel Welding, Robotic Welding, Tube & Pipe Mills and Welding Training / Education.
Volvo Construction Equipment
The L45G and L50G compact wheel loaders from Volvo Construction Equipment are ready to tackle every terrain. The wheel loaders are in the 9-10 ton machine weight class but with the versatility and performance of much larger models. With the flexibility to work in a wide range of jobsites, these machines are fitted with a hydraulic attachment bracket for quick tool changeovers. They feature the latest emissions-compliant engines and Volvo-patented TP Linkage, ensuring high breakout force and parallel movement throughout the entire lifting range. This combination gives high tilt-back torque and lifting power, increasing productivity when loading or rehandling. They feature the modern stylistic redesign of the G-Series range. Smaller in size than many competitor machines, these models’ compact dimensions come from the shorter frame as a result of the transversely mounted engine. This combination allows high maneuverability in restricted work areas.
Tinker & Rasor
Tinker & Rasor says its totally redesigned, AP/W Holiday Detector may be the “safest, most reliable and most versatile ‘belt worn’ Holiday Detector available today.”  It was redesigned to have an all-inclusive pulse DC output range of 800-5,000 V. The company says this range exceeds the ranges of instruments from other manufacturers. Features:  1) a built-in LCD peak voltage display with 100 V resolution (eliminates the requirement for a secondary voltmeter); 2) a safety switch feature on the “power pak” instantly shuts the AP/W off when it is released; 3) a super-bright LED holiday indicator; 4) an ergonomic open handle and case; 5) locking cables and compatibility with existing accessories; 6) a carrying case with wheels, and comes with an adapter which allows users to employ electrodes from other manufacturers. The firm reports innovations in the AP/W set the unit apart from all others and asserts the totally redesigned AP/W sets the standard in what holiday detection should be. www.tinker-rasor

Reed Manufacturing Company
Reed has introduced the PES2 IPS/CTS (#04303)PE Squeeze-Off tool for 1/2 –inch IPS and CTS pipe . The model has common IPS and CTS pipe sizes in one stop set. Utility contractors say this model handles the pipe variety they encounter in the course of their work. Sliding bar handles make work in tight places easier and increase leverage for tightening. Fine-pitched thread on feed screw allows for a controlled, low-effort squeeze. Grease fitting at friction points make operation smoother and extend tool life. Aluminum parts reduce tool weight for easier handling. Aluminum casting withstand varied climate and soil conditions.
