New Equipment

June 2016

Completely portable design. Rechargeable battery with 8 hour run time. Rugged lightweight construction. Up to 2,200 lb lift capacity! The new PS 1 Portable Vacuum Lifting System from Vacuworx is not your average cordless tool. But it’s definitely one that every contractor needs! A safer alternative to manual lifting According to a recent article on health risks for construction workers, it is best to limit or eliminate manual heavy lifting when possible. The use of equipment such as vacuum lifting devices is strongly recommended. The PS 1 is the perfect solution for smaller lifting challenges that come up daily on jobsites. The patent pending portable lifter makes light work out of lifting heavy pieces of concrete, marble, granite, metal, steel and iron. Because it is powered by a 12 volt rechargeable battery, the PS 1 is ideal for applications where no power source is available or where no emissions are permitted. Weighing just 25 lb, the “suitcase” lifter can be used indoors or outside and is a great companion to small equipment such as skid steers, electric skid steers, mini electric excavators, forklifts and small cranes.

McElroy has launched a new machine in its flagship TracStar® series that offers advanced emissions reduction and automation technologies allowing users to meet today’s toughest regulations in air quality and data logging. The new TracStar 900 Series 2 Automatic features a Cummins US EPA Tier 4/EU Stage IIIB engine that burns ultra-low sulfur diesel making it cleaner burning, quieter running and more efficient than ever before. Fusion functions are controlled automatically with The Coach® pendant which also has the ability to upload joint reports to the McElroy DataLogger® Vault™ for safe storage, analysis and validation of pipeline integrity. Engineers made it easy to access the engine for maintenance on the TracStar 900 Series 2 Automatic by redesigning the cowling and rearranging the components under the hood. The machine fuses 340mm to 900mm (12” IPS to 36” OD) thermoplastic pipe in accordance with many of the international fusion standards and includes all of the ongoing features of the TracStar machines that have made them so reliable over the years.

Century Products

Century Products introduces the Osprey Series Fly Cutters engineered for maximum performance and reliability. Incorporating a robust square tube design to ensure longevity with superior strength, this new design features the ability to pull or push ream due to strategically placed cutter bars with replaceable rotating carbide teeth both forward and aft. Protected recessed fluid nozzles are also placed in a concentric pattern for a full sweep across the bore hole face. The Osprey Series Fly Cutters are available in the Osprey SD standard duty and Osprey XD extreme duty with optional customization features. The Osprey SD incorporates a vertical spoke/fluid chamber design while the Osprey XD incorporates Century’s Roof Truss Design for unsurpassed structural integrity with a forward and aft angular tube design. Both designs provide a full coverage cutting pattern with larger flow through areas to optimize cutting removal for increased penetration rates.

Inline Services

Inline Services’ Cutter Disc is designed for enhanced cleaning of pipelines where wax, scale or debris is present. The angled shaped edges of the disc act as cutter blades to scrape off deposits throughout the pipeline. The spaces in-between the cutter edges allow bypass of product to help suspend removed debris. The Cutter Disc can be used for many applications including chemical cleaning and removal of wax or black powder. The Cutter Disc can be used on any mandrel pig and is available for all pipe diameters. This disc is made from Inlines’ MAXITHANE™, a high performance urethane material, which makes this product very durable.

The Montabert CPA 225E drilling attachment enables operators to transition from digging to drilling in a matter of minutes. Designed for use on 15 to 25 ton excavators, the CPA 225E drilling attachment is easily transported between jobsites, delivering optimal drilling power in the blast hole, slide stabilization, tunneling and other long-reach applications. The 3,197-pound CPA 225E drills holes measuring 1-1/2 to 3 inches in diameter and up to 14 feet deep. An optional rod adder enables the CPA 225E to reach a drill depth of 26 feet. The single-pass drilling attachment includes an aluminum feed that provides 47 degrees of drill rotation and a high performance Montabert HC50 drifter equipped with a hydraulic dampener and an energy recovery system. An industry-exclusive Intelsense system automatically analyzes drilling conditions and adjusts factors such as feed pressure, feed speed, anti-jamming controls and percussion pressure.

CASE Construction Equipment

CASE Construction Equipment announced the release of the 4-in-1 Systemgard™ Fluid Analysis Kit. The preventative maintenance tool provides a picture of fluid and internal system conditions without users having to dissemble the machine. It monitors system cleanliness and filtration efficiency, which helps extend the life of the machine and reduce replacement costs, and helps ensure equipment reliability and uptime. The four fluid tests that come in the pack are: engine oil analysis; coolant analysis; transmission/hydraulic oil analysis; and diesel fuel analysis. The state-of-the-art fluid analysis identifies dirt, wear particles, fuel dilution and coolant-contaminants that can cause catastrophic failure or shorten equipment life. The testing and analysis included in the kit ensures that units are up, running and staying efficient. It also provides valuable sampling histories that justify higher equipment resale values.
