CASE Construction Equipment announced the availability of Michelin® X® Tweel® SSL All-Terrain Airless Radial Tires as a factory-approved/supplied option on all skid steer loader models. Airless radial tires perform just like a pneumatic tire, but without the risk and costly downtime associated with penetrations and impact damage. CASE is the first skid steer loader OEM to offer the Michelin X Tweel SSL from the factory. The Michelin X Tweel SSL is one single unit, replacing traditional tire/wheel/valve assemblies. There is no need for complex wheel/tire mounting equipment. There is no air pressure to maintain once each tire is bolted on. The AT models feature a deep open tread design for excellent cleaning and traction, and a deep layer of undertread allows the core to be retread many times.
The Michelin X Tweel SSL provides outstanding stability and enables a skid steer loader to work rapidly with more comfort for the operator, reducing driver fatigue while improving productivity. Transneft Diascan has commissioned Poligon software package (Poligon SP). The software developed by the enterprise’s specialists allows automating the processes of planning, metering and analysis of the test ground’s equipment with natural and artificial defects, as well as optimizing generation of reporting documents on the performed works. The new software package for automated metering of defects, flange inserts and structure of fluid test ground allows forming the plan of the ground’s equipment, entering data on new defects and defects’ measurement parameters, updating information on the pipeline stand structure, forming applications for defects for equipping the test ground directly by the customer. The new software provides a possibility to generate reporting documents on the performed works, keep the reporting documents and conduct statistical analysis on using defects in works at the test ground. The test ground of Transneft Diascan is one of the key parts of the enterprise’s infrastructure; it is meant for performing passes of pipeline inspection gadgets through pipelines filled with operating fluid (25% glycerin solution). Southern California Gas Co.
Southern California Gas Co. announced it has broken ground on a first-of-its kind, fiber optic cable installation that will allow the company to monitor the condition of its high-pressure transmission pipelines in real-time. The fiber optic technology is being installed along a new, seven-mile section of natural gas pipeline in Bakersfield, CA and will serve as an early warning system to detect unauthorized construction work that could damage the pipeline and changes in pressure in the line that could indicate a leak. The technology uses fiber optic cables that run along a pipeline and that transmit data across long distances. The system operates on the principle that light signals vary when a fiber optic cable is exposed to vibration, stress, or abnormal changes in temperature – all indicators of a possible natural gas leak or an impact to a natural gas line. Vermeer has expanded its compact equipment lineup with the new S925TX mini skid steer, designed to provide impressive lifting performance and the power to conquer the most demanding applications
With a tip capacity of 2,643 pounds, rated operating capacity of 925 pounds and maximum hinge pin height reach of 84.5 inches, the radial lift path of the Vermeer S925TX makes easy work of lifting and dumping heavy loads. The new mini skid steer features a dual auxiliary system, which allows the operator to switch between high flow for ground-engaging attachments and low flow for maximum control. It’s also equipped with a universal mounting plate that fits a broad range of Vermeer-approved attachments. Customization options include three smooth-running, high-torque, four-cylinder engines: a 24.8-horsepower Kubota V1505 diesel engine, 40-horsepower Kubota WG1605 gas engine, and 35.1-horsepower Kubota V1505 diesel engine, for international markets only.
