Partial Service Can Begin on Pipeline Construction Projects

FERC has approved Enbridge’s request to place into service facilities associated with the Access South and Adair Southwest projects in Ohio, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

According to FERC’s Rich McGuire, the approval excludes the Athens to Berne Loop, the Barton Compressor Station, the new impellers and Frame 5 unit at the Owingsville Compressor Station, and the new electric unit at the Tompkinsville Compressor Station. McGuire added that rehabilitation and stabilization of the construction work areas are proceeding satisfactorily.

Once completed, the Access South and Adair Southwest projects will allow shippers to transport new natural gas supplies from the Appalachian region to markets in the midwestern United States. Both projects are expected to be placed in service in November 2017.
