Pipeline Construction Project Now Operational

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has started operations on an 88-kilometer natural gas pipeline connecting a liquefied natural gas terminal in Rudong with Shanghai’s Chongming Island.

The pipeline contains an annual capacity of 1.84 billion cubic meters and is designed to increase the supply of natural gas to the city’s more than 24 million residents.

The project is CNPC’s third natural gas pipeline to Shanghai.
