Trump Names Lawyer to Head FERC

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has nominated energy lawyer Kevin McIntyre to chair the vacancy-plagued commission that oversees the nation’s power grid and natural gas pipelines. Only one commissioner currently serves on the five-member Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, leaving it without a quorum and unable to make decisions on interstate pipelines and other projects worth billions of dollars. If confirmed by the Senate, McIntyre, a Republican, would lead the five-member panel. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration said Thursday it is taking steps to expand oil drilling in the Arctic and Atlantic oceans as President Donald Trump continues to push for U.S. “energy dominance” in the global market. President Trump has announced his intent to nominate Richard Glick of Virginia to be a Member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the remainder of a 5-year term expiring June 30, 2022. Glick currently serves as General Counsel for the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. The INGAA Foundation has announced that industry veteran Jason M. Goldstein will formally assume the role of executive director, following Richard Hoffmann’s retirement, effective Aug. 31. Goldstein joined the INGAA Foundation in June to create a smooth transition.
