Work Can Start on Florida Pipeline Construction Project

Posted on

FERC has approved Florida Gas Transmission Company’s request to begin construction activities associated with relocating portions of the Sanford Lateral and Sanford Lateral Loop as part of the Wekiva Parkway Relocation Project in Lake and Seminole Counties, Florida.

The Wekiva Parkway Relocation Project includes:

  • Abandoning two segments of the existing Sanford Lateral and Sanford Lateral Loop facilities that conflict with construction of the new Wekiva Parkway and associated Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) facilities.
  • Relocating 4.6 miles of the Sanford Lateral and 3.2 miles of the Sanford Lateral Loop facilities.
  • Installing a new 12-inch-diameter lateral line valve on the Sanford Lateral.

All new pipeline segments will be constructed in a new permanent right-of-way, adjacent to the new FDOT right-of- way, on the north side of Wekiva Parkway.

The project is expected to be placed in service on Oct. 13, 2018.
